Kids riding their own bikes

Our hire guide includes Orbea MX kids bikes with 20 or 24 inch wheels. These are lightweight pedal bikes, with a published guide of ages seven and up. Wheel size and age are only a starting point: tell us the child’s height, riding experience and confidence so the team can help with fit.

Choose the outing around the least experienced rider. A child who enjoys riding near home may still need a shorter first ride in an unfamiliar place, particularly where routes involve crossings or shared spaces.

Cargo e-bikes and passenger seats

The Tribe Evamos Longtail cargo e-bike offers an option for carrying an additional passenger. Baby seats can also be hired, subject to availability. Before booking, discuss passenger age and size, the required seat and the bike’s carrying limits with the team. Do not assume that every seat fits every hire bike.

Family hire prices

The current guide lists kids bikes from $30 and the cargo e-bike from $150. These are starting prices; the selected rental period and extras determine the total. Check your dates in the booking system for availability and the final price. Bike hire includes a helmet and lock; select any available passenger accessories separately.

What to tell us before your ride

• How many adults and children are in the group.
• Children’s heights, ages and whether they will pedal or ride as passengers.
• Whether an adult is comfortable handling a cargo bike.
• Your intended rental period and any accommodation delivery request.

Keep the first outing manageable
